Bob and Tom’s Open Mic Contest

Show us your stand-up for the chance to join the Busch Light Bob & Tom
Comedy All Stars Tour and perform at one of their shows!

1. Submit a one minute video featuring your original stand-up routine
   (the “Theme”). Videos over one minute will be disqualified.
2. Our judges will review the videos and select the top 5 finalists by May 27, 2011 based on
   originality, creativity, sincerity, and use of the Theme.
3. Between May 30th and June 12th, 2011, listeners will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite video!
4. The final winner will be selected based on the highest listener voting score.

Grand Prize

One Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for 2 to one of the stops on the 2011 Busch Light Bob & Tom Comedy All Stars Tour and the opportunity to perform their winning stand-up routine, including roundtrip coach airfare for 2 people, 2 nights hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and two tickets to the show.

Entry Criteria

• Video entry that includes one (1) original stand-up comedy routine.
• Video entry should be no longer than one (1) minute in length.
• Video entry should not exceed one hundred (100) MB in size.
• Permitted formats of the video are 3gpp, asf, asx, avi, flv, mov, mp4, mpg, or wmv.

JerrySeinfeld.com offers fans a daily dose of one-of-a-kind stand-up comedy

Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of his first national broadcast appearance, Jerry Seinfeld today launched his personal website, www.JerrySeinfeld.com, offering fans daily video clips from his more than 30 years of television stand-up performances.  The site went live today at 9:00 am.

Each day, the site will feature three short comedy clips, personally selected by Jerry, from among more than 1,000 stand-up bits he has collected and digitized.  Among the trio chosen by Jerry for the site’s debut, is one entitled “The Fattest Man in the World,” which was recorded on May 6, 1981, at Seinfeld’s first appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.”  Other clips featured today are “No Room in the Newspaper” and “Do the Horses Know They’re Racing?”

Ranging from less than 30 seconds up to two minutes in length, each daily grouping of three clips will only be available for 24 hours, after which they will be replaced by three new hand-picked bits. The clips cover the entirety of Seinfeld’s televised stand-up career, from 1977 to present, including appearances on talk shows hosted by Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, David Letterman and Jay Leno, as well as other televised stand-up performances, including the stand-up performances recorded for the iconic TV series “Seinfeld.”

New NC Club +Pandora Comedy

You heard it right, making North Carolina the 5th largest comedy city, Hendrick Construction won a contract to build The Comedy Zone – the newest venue in Charlotte’s premier entertainment district.

The Comedy Zone will be a 7,100-square-foot club at NC Music Factory in Fourth Ward featuring performances by the country’s top stand-up comics. The space, which is beneath The Saloon at NC Music Factory, will feature an underground bowl with stadium seating for 400 guests and a stage that protrudes into the crowd.

“The Comedy Zone gives Charlotte another critical entertainment option in its quest to become a world-class city,” said Noah Lazes, president of the ARK Group, the developer of NC Music Factory. “We’re excited to add them to the entertainment mix at NC Music Factory. There’s nothing like seeing a bunch of happy people come out of a comedy club – it’s the happiest they’ve been all week long.”

Brian Heffron of Charlotte-based Heffron Talent International – The Comedy Zone’s owner – said NC Music Factory was the perfect fit for the comedy club. The company owns more than 60 comedy clubs across the country.

Hug & Laughs

In NY? - Heads up! – Hugs, Kisses and LAUGHS – Lots of them – at the 8pm Stand up NY show. Comedians, Alex Barnett and Kevin Williams produce the show, which is a great mix of new, seasoned and headliner comics.

Last week CB caught funnyman, Danny Palmer who immediately had us laughing. the hilarious producers, Jamie Roberts, the host who kept it going and Headliner, David Baker who had the crowded room roaring. Had to run, but rumor has it the rest of the show was just as great, with comedians, Matty Baetz, Jay Schmidt, Rasad Bashir, Gialio Gallarotti..
