Sketch Com-Ageddon is ON! AT THE TORONTO SKETCH COMEDY FESTIVAL
June 14, 2011
48 enter, only one is left standing
It's a 48-troupe sketch comedy battle-royal and there will be only one
victor. That's right, it's time for Sketch Com-Ageddon. And it all starts
Tuesday night!
Sketch Com-Ageddon is a week-long sketch comedy competition taking place at
Comedy Bar in Toronto. With 48 troupes vying for a $500 cash prize and
automatic entry into the 2011 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, this is a
week of hilarity and chaos not to be missed.
48 sketch troupes clash in 4 preliminary rounds Tuesday through Thursday.
They have one sketch - maximum 5 minutes - to win over the audience and/or
an in-house judge. One judge's pick, and one audience pick from each
preliminary round move on. Same judging applies in each of the 2 semi-final
rounds on Friday night with each troupe performing a 10 minute set. 2
troupes from each semi are sent to the final showdown on Saturday where the
audience alone crowns the winner.
Sketch Com-Ageddon is a fundraiser for The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival.
